I actually use both. Unless you have a high bioload, you don't want to start carbon/bacteria dosing. It really lowers your nutrients and can possible strip the tank. The special blend really works for bacterial stability/growth and is beneficial for a new tank.

I was thinking of finishing the bottle of special blend and then moving onto the prodibio bioclean.
