I'm unsure of the question here. I mean besides your nem just had one expensive meal. Life moves on??? What exactly are you wondering about? If it's the nem s health or anything like that he will be fine. If it's the concern about the butterfly he's bye bye....you probably could have tried to pull l him out when it first happen but it's probably too late now...

It may spot out some of the scales and bones that could not be digested

Yeah, I was concerned with the skeleton or whatever might not get digested and how it might effect my tank, anything from ammonia ( rookie speculation ) to anything. I didn't pull the fish out because the fish was on the wave maker long enough that he couldn't swim just flap his side fins and go with the current so at that point I wasn't going to risk hurting the anemone I've had him and 2 of the clowns since my first 14 gall tank 3 years ago.
