Anyone have issues with Mold under the canopy? I have a DSA tank, stand and canopy and noticed I have some mold growing

How should I treat it? I want to get a handle on it before it gets bad - I was thinking take the canopy off - use a bleach mix - let it dry then maybe seal it with a urethane?

Any ideas?

That's kind of what I did when I last had a canopy. I hadn't been paying attention to stray water drops when say, I left a pair of tongs on top of the canopy. After a while I noticed a few black spots in the area. I took some hot water and a diluted bleach solution and wiped it down.

From then on I didn't see any mold spots. of course I also stopped letting water/etc get onto the holding area of my canopy.

So I never had to do it again. I didn't get any negative reactions. I mean, the top inner lid of my canopy never touched my tank water, etc. and I used the heavily diluted solution only where necessary.

Any chance of posting pics of the canopy?
Is it 'open' at all?
You might need to add a couple of computer fans -blowing inward or else they will rust- to circulate some air in there and lower the humidity.

Problem is its kind of low profile not sure how to get a fan under it. I am thinking I may have to build it up. uploadfromtaptalk1400030126511.jpguploadfromtaptalk1400030194290.jpg
