Harvesting rotifers

I have a questions for clown fish breeders I just got into breeding I'm new to this my question is I have rotifers I got and on package it's says harvest date is 3/25/14 now my question is I don't see them moving in the 8oz bottle are they dead

I'm not a clownfish breeder but I did try to culture phyto and copepods. To answer your question, if it wasn't dead then they are closer to death now. And if they were dead already, then they are more dead now. :dead1::dead1::dead1:

Put a little water with rotifers inside a test tube or a water test kit glass vial. Then Use an eye lupe and have a bright light behind it. You should see them swimming around .
