What's the difference between prodibio bio optim and bio digest versus special blend versus bright well bacteria and the rest of these products on the market that suppose to boost your bacteria?
Since most, if not all of them don't tell you exactly what is in their product (s), there really is no way to tell. We are left with marketing claims and anecdotal testimonials.

they all sort of do the same thing most of these products was evolved out of waste water treatment meant to break down organics and they all involve the use in same ways to the redfield ratio
Depends on what it is. After I started dosing bio optim and bio digest from prodibio I experienced a huge nasty bout of cyano. I was under the impression these were to reduce things like cyano happening and to "clean" out the aquarium
Yes I know. I'm not blaming prodibio products solely in my cyano. I just had greater expectations after reading all these positive things about it. I am also still dealing with phosphates issues so I know for certain that had something to do with my cyano. Debating now if I should try lanthanum chloride or the brightwell aquatics phosphate e, or just go with the caribsea phos busters. After using one of these I will just run the rowaphos since it should be at main table levels. Buying rowaphos and changing it out every 2-3 days cause of exhaustion will be too expensive at $30 every 500 ml. For the size of my tank it's recommended 250 ml at a time. So it would take me weeks to reduce the phosphates
It will take longer to export with regular gfo. And I hear good things about the rowaphos. Before I took it offline it was helping/reducing. It was just being exhausted too quickly
Very true. I've been very patient. Look how long I've had the controller and it's still not hooked up yet. Lol. Anyway
My phosphates are at 2.0+. This being checked with the Hanna phos checker and ati test kit. Didn't check with my Red Sea kit yet cause it may be expired
I read somewhere phosphates as high as 3 can be reduced to 0.5 in a week and a half. I have corals so I don't want to strip them completely. Plus stripping them to quick can harm the corals
Hey it's you ssdawood. Nice to see a neighbor on here also. You still got those corals?
That's what I was thinking of doing as far as with my phosphates.
The guy lveno is the guy who is/was gonna help us out with this controller. Great dude
@ssdawood
Where did you get your lanthum chloride from? I saw a thing on youtube where a guy got phos free from Leslie's pool supply. My local pool store had no idea what the hell I was talking about. Do you still have those corals?
@lveno
It's all good brother. I'm gonna master this thing tonight. You and everyone on the other site have helped me a lot and gave me the courage to master this. If not or it proves to be too much I will just sell it or give it away. Mine didn't come with a manual remember. I don't know if thirty forgot or if I lost it during the travels of the day. I'm saying that to figure out what I really wanna do. That's why I come in here to get feedback from more knowledgeable people or at least from people who have done things before tomget there opinion. I understand everyone tank is different but we all strive for the same goal. To have a loving safe reef.
