I need to know if the 2 return lines on my RR tank are supposed to have a hole in each one that shoots the water directly into the overflow. The hole is in the exact spot on both returns right before the lock lines shooting right into the drain never making it to the tank.

why?
because I did the same to my return just in case there is a power failure,
so water doesn't return back to the sump and overflow my sump

Ok like a siphon! That makes perfect sense. The tank just sounds a little louder than when I first got it running, not sure if it's because I took off the canopy or what..., I was thinking that's the reason somehow,,

but tanks looks pretty amazing without a canopy leave it like that
