How do you get rid of nuisance algae that is on a frag from a fish store or a swap? Before you put it in your tank.

Started seeing this in my tank and it's started to spread from a purchase 2 weeks ago.

How do I get rid of it?

I referring to any algae, bubble, the red cynto(forgot the spelling), hair. Do people to quarantine tanks for corals?

I'm having an issue with a brown colored string like algae and it's starting to spread. What is the best way to get rid of that? Would post a pic but it's not working from my iPhone.

I'm no expert but it sounds like cyano. I am dealing with the same issues right now. Caused by a abundance of nutrients. Check your phosphates and nitrate levels. I was suggested to use special blend bacteria. Was also suggested to try a cyano removal called cyano solutions. It supposed to work overnight. Good luck
