i have 300g and use a cal reactor. i was getting low cal readings so i was dosing cal along with reactor to bring it up to 450. 2 weeks ago i got a new red sea test kit and cal was over 500. i turned off reactor and i am manually dosing alk to maintain 8.4. my problem is cal hasn't dropped under 500 in over 2 wks.
i have a mixed reef with a good amount of sps and lps.

i know 500 isn't bad, but why isn't it dropping. i also had my water checked at lfs and they got 500 also. thanks
