In a pinch today I dropped by Petland on W72nd for some air tubing. While I was there I took a walk downstairs to the tank room and found this. This was only a handful of a hundred 2" specimens in the tank.
I asked the "guy"... Do you know what this is? He replied.. "It's wicked cool coral"

they are called curly q anemones. i think they look like apstasia.

When they mature they turn rainbow color, wicked cool!!

Keep in mind, 30 years ago when I had my first "reef tank" with an under gravel filter system, keeping those "new cool" corals alive was a considered a milestone.
