Being blasted close to the surface under 400w MH

My colony is light red and has pink on new growth areas. I never see green in the color scheme. Is there suppose to be a hint of green visually in the coral
when you look at it?

I recently made a few frags, and as they are growing out their bases on the discs, I am seeing a yellowish green color.

Stronger the light (ie higher up or more powerful lights) the less green you'll see. The red will still be red and/or pink, but you'll get less green.

Lower/less light, more green (especially at the base) and less red.

Somewhere in the middle...you'll get both.

So yeah...from what I've heard, it highly depends on light intensity. I have a small frag in the middle of my tank (T5) and I'm seeing both...for now.

Not every coral with the same name is from the same colony. So different red planets may have less or more green when put in the same light. Though all seem to be red at high light. My red planet is getting moderate light and has both red/pink and green. The green is more on the undersides or lower light area.
