Water Testing

I went to a new store today and brought a water sample for them to check. The store told me that they don't check alk, mag and cal is this normal?


The store I normally go to checks everything. This pissed me off and I went to my normal store and got my coral and cleanup crew from them.

I can tell you are a valuable resource to this community with comments like that. Street fighter sucks mortal combat is better.

I think if you are a buying customer they should not have a problem with testing your water but if I was a store owner I don't think I would test water for anybody that comes through my door.

The place by me makes you bring your water in order to get the warranty on freshwater fresh. No saltwater warranty. They check everything for saltwater ammonia, nitrates, calcium and every thing else. They even check iodine. I usually buy something when I get my water tested. They they make their 3 cents back in chemicals.

I feel so many places do check your water. It will come off as being a little cheap or not caring if they didn't.

that Store by my APT is good,they check ur water no matter u buy or no but i mostly buy lol.

A lot of LFS offers tests for the basic parameters using API test kits.
I've personally never used the service. And I don't think I've seen any stores offer to test Calc/Alk/Mg. But then again, I never use their service so I don't know...
I think of those as premium tests.
