Maxi jet in my sump

A few weeks ago I noticed that the chamber where my water dumps and skims had a layer of slime or stagnant water on the surface, I would stir it up and it would help but in another day or two it would return , as if the water under it would travel the chambers all the way to the return pump but it would leave that sludge on the surface back in the skimmer chamber .

Going through my buckets of gear I found a few pumps and decided to place one in that chamber .........fast forward to today ..... For the past week I have ran the pump for 1 hour each day and it has doubled my skim cup collection and alleviated that sludge , it pays to keep circulation going .

Good Idea you need flow in there also
Are you running any carbon / this might help remove some of this also

Hey Greg ,yeah I have a carbon and gfo reactor running in my sump as well , I just don't want to have a crazy amount of water running across the sump without the skimmer cleaning it so I have a slower than usual flow .
