DIY screen top

Hey mr

My tank isn't drilled, so I have an overflow box and the return line that hangs over the tank. 1 is on each side of my 75 and makes making the screen top terribly difficult for me. I have all of the materials and was wondering if anyone has made one with so many corners (they don't look pretty nor fit correctly when cutting around for those 2 items).

I'll pay someone in beer for help lol

Hey pop I see your comment on my email but not on the thread yet. I just was laying down and came up with the idea of running the screen borders along the front and sides then just running the screen part along the over flow but the spline I bought isn't big enough so it keeps coming undone. It'll look cleaner that way. I also have the power cords for my jabao powerheads. Plus I'm exhausted. Will be hitting up hd tomorrow for larger spline

I stopped the screen right before the pipes then did the rest with egg crate. Works out great.

Good idea, I've come across this in the past but I don't want egg crate on the top of my tank.

I gave up again after trying last night. Just hope my fish don't jump for now. I get so aggravated lol.

I felt the same way. Until I saw my cat and possum wrasse in a staring contest. I figured if I painted it black it wouldn't be that bad. Never painted it and definitely got used to it. I actually like how it sits right on the overflow.

So between feeding last night and the night before, It's kind of annoying having to take the screen off. Anyone make like a little door or something I can fit a turkey baster through to feed.

You can use a few more corners and turn them upside down to create those shapes:

I tried that but it didn't come out as clean as yours did. I'm happy with the egg crate for now along the back. Just going to paint it black tomorrow.

Check the sticky for screen tops...theres a nice example of a lid with a hinge.
