Perfect example is a few months ago I had to re-home a couple yellow tangs instead of making cash on them I wanted them to go to a home I felt was good and clearly noted that in my post. I had to deal with somebody threatening me because I chose to give it to somebody instead of them, perfect example of what I heard about before I even came on here.

Was that member "coralmaniac"?!?! I went through that with him. I have a paypal payment to hold a coral, otherwise first person to pay gets it policy on my threads (as was stated in my FS thread), and even after I warned coralmaniac of this, he didnt pay and when someone did pay coralmaniac freaked out on me and called me many names and said i would lie for money!

This site has grown a lot over the years, and with growth you get some people who are scummy and or crazy.

So you can see what I had to deal with.
We also had a lengthy pm conversation... He wanted my address and called me names when I wouldn't give it to him, so then I asked for his address and he wouldn't give it to me....but he still called me names because I wouldn't give him my address.

So this is another thread about selling on MR, a very similar to the one I started not long ago about issues with selling. Looks like I'm not alone.
I think a limit of post before being able to sell would decrease the quality of this site. People would just post ridiculous posts just to meet the quota.
Someone suggested to keep a black list of people who were less than honest in the past and not to deal with them again. I think this is probably the best idea so far and I already have a list.
Just recently a guy (that I dealt with before) wanted to buy a coral from me. I was going to his neighborhood one day so we agreed to meet at his place. When I arrived he didn't answer my texts, phone calls, nothing. He has many positive ratings and twice as many posts as I do.

People can make there own quotas for post count buy or sell to people. It doesn't have to be a manhattan reef rule. If someone has 20 posts and is selling something don't try and buy it.

The main advantage local sites have over general reef sites is the fact it is local and the buy sell area is a major part of the site. With restritions on the buy sell area will reduce the amount of new members and visits by current members which can affect advertisments and vendor pricing and numbers. Starting a thread every few days about the buy sell area or reefer rating gives the impression that the problem is more prevelant then it really is. There is a reefer rating system but nobody wants to use it. Thats why people who flake have high post counts and 100% rating. If there is no conquences to their flaking they will continue.
