I have a sump from reef devil and a reef devil skimmer plumbed from the outside. Can I just toss Mangones in my sump with a flourescent light above it? If not how does it work? Thanks

you might want to pm (gettanked) he has a beautiful mangrove garden.

you shouldn't fully submerge mangroves. i tried them and gave up. i've seen some members use styrofoam, make a hole and put the mangrove in the hole. the styrofoam will float and only the roots will be submerged. make sure the dead leaves don't fall into the water. it would mean that all the stuff the mangroves sucked up goes back into your tank.

Thanks for the good read. I think I will split my sump and add a baffle and add some live sand some algae and a light. Something simple and I don't want anything hanging off of the tank, Whats the best spot in a sump? Where the water from the tank enters, or where it returns to the tank? Thanks

i dont get the point of miracle mud. we use a fuge to remove nutrients, and then u add miracle mud which adds them.

miracle mud isn't worth it. It has to be changed out every 6 months b/c it loses its worth. Trying to remove it creates it own problem b/c ur gonna lose everything in it thats benefical too. Your tank can do just as well w/o it.
