I am using New Era pellet food and aegis flakes for my clowns/cherub angel/6 line wrasse......seems ok, they like it. Feed mostly frozen foods.

Was curious to see what MR members are using and happy with.

Thanks

Omega One pellets and flakes.

Almost Natural Tropical Fish Food flakes and pellet by Ed

both of them are made from whole animals, like fish, shrimps, shellfishes.
And fro Ed, no artificial preservatives.

I had recently posted this in another thread. I premix about 8 different pellets together for an auto feeder. I mix a variety of NLS pellets, hikari pellets, cobalt mysis pellets, formula 1&2, Elos pellets, Spirulina pellets, and SA hatchery. This is fed once a day.
I feed flakes on rare occasions as well but I don't put that in the auto feeder.

Marrone got me on OSI Spirulina. This brings amazing color to your fish. Only thing is that it turns your water green. Actually my water stays clear but my skimmate is nuclear green :D

I also use spectrum pellets and I have the whole line of New Era which I am not a fan of, especially for the price. Not sure why it gets such praise. I do like their pellets though.

I used to thing the new life spectrum and new Era were somehow related, at a frag swap New Era had a table. I asked them of they were related and I've never seen anyone get so offended over a question lol the guy got really stessed out

I like the idea of premixing many different pellets as oh207 does. Seems like a logical thing to do to get the greatest variety of nutrition for all......

Is there a downside to this?

Yes, IMO the downside is, there is no guarantee that any 1 fish is getting a variety...maybe he only eats the 'red' ones or the 'smaller' ones ... Feeding only 1 type each time would allow each fish a chance to get each type of pellet

So true! This is especially the case for my clowns. They only eat what they like. So yes, sometimes I turn off the feeder when I want to feed them their veggies. But I don't do it that often.
