Nano without refugium

Hello Fellow Reefers,

I'm starting my new nano tank (long 20gal) with out any refugium, no protein skimmers.
I did my research of some nano tanks that thrive without skimmers but they are using Poly-filter. Anyone who had an experience with Poly-filter?

Will appreciate any information. Thanks again!

I ran my nano for years with no issues and just weekly water changes. I did run GFO and carbon in a filter bag. And I ran a small filter pad that I changed out every other day

Thanks jcs, I'm planning to have a zoa garden with 1rbta hosting a pair of clownfish. But the rest will be zoar and acans.

You should be fine. Had a pair of clowns and a rbta in my nano. Check out the link on my signature so u can see my old nano set up.

My red sea max was run with no fuge and no skimmer heck I didn't even have anything in the back chambers ..just do weekly water changes and you'll be totally fine
