Alright guys. It's been 2 years since I got my first tank (BC29) and I think it's time to upgrade. I just got a 40 Breeder from another member and I need some suggestions. I don't mind spending money on my equipment so let me know what you think would work great...

Tank: 40 Breeder (Has one bulkhead drilled already)
Stand: Getting it built by tttony or JimmyR1rider
Sump: Hopefully a CustomKing creation (New or Used)
Lights: 2x AI Hydra (Have one, need another)
Circulation: 2x Vortech MP10
Skimmer: ? (Need some help with this one)
Return Pump: ? (Need some help with this one)
RO/DI: SpectraPure 90gpd

I'm going to be doing "The Package" from Tampa Bay Saltwater as I want to let this tank cycle a bit before I add the inhabitants from my BioCube. Looking at about 40lbs of sand and 80lbs of rock.

I'll need some help with everything as I go along since this will be my first tank/sump setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should use the 40 as a sump and get a larger tank. You are only gaining 10 gallons. I like the dimensions of deep blues 80 gallon. 4ft x 2ft.

The equipment list looks good. For the return pump look into Jebao. There are so many skimmers out there. I will just keep your eyes open for a good deal in the market place.

The 80g is a decent suggestion. Slightly larger could prove to be for forgiving

If staying put. I'd checkout eheim pumps for he return. I have a 1262 n mine fir 2+ years. No issue nd quiet

Well i'm keeping my BC29 up and running until I know for sure I can keep everything alive in this 40. I know the footprint of the tanks are pretty similar but I have some size restrictions. My parents are okay with this size and as long as i'm living with them for the time being than thats fine for me. It's going to be a tank for me to learn on more than anything. Never run anything else besides and AIO. Looking forward to this build
