meet the new couple

so my harlequin shrimp died a couple weeks ago it was sad but it just so happens today I stop at my lfs and there are a ton of harlequins in a tank and two were just chillen together , a small and large not necessarily a male and female, so I ask are those two a pair? no they all came together. hmmm... ok can we do an experiment? maybe? can we through a chocolate chip in there and see what happens? idk he answered. ill tell you what if they share it ill buy both the shrimp and the sea star. so short story long they flipped it over together he dug in and she fought off the invaders like a boss!!! I am not saying they are a pair but there at least homies so with out further ado im glad to introduce fred and willma!!

That's awesome. I always wanted a pair but I'm nervous they would kill my cleaner shrimp or/and my bright red blood shrimp

I don't think so I had a cleaner with my old harlequin they stayed away from each other. I will say these guys are not afraid of much my melanarus swam by stopped to check them out he was just curious and they put there claws up like they were throwin up gang signs.. Lol

That's good to know. I will have to keep my eyes open for a pair. Someone should have them on sale soon. I don't know much about them so I wouldn't of bothered to think 2 of them hanging out together was possibly a sign of a pair

well I had two before but they hated eachother and the female wouldn't let the male eat I even started feeding them separately and she would snuff him and steal his food so I gave him away

So it's hit or miss even with a pair? I did some research and see there are 2 different variations. 2 different colors

yeah there actually different colors red or blue I think one is from Hawaii?

yes a true pair will spawn but you need to capture the larva and quarantine them so they can survive

Lol. I got my eye out for a pair. Would hate to take the chance of ordering 2 and they both are males and 1 ends up dying
