I got a question.
Since im controlling my ph in my reactor with my apex how the effluent line should be??
Dripping still?? Or it can be completely open.
My understanding on the calcium reactor is i should manually dose till my levels are on point and then the reactor will just keep them steady.
Since i dont go by bubble counts and let my apex be the 1 controlling my co2 how my effluent line should be
Does it really matter if is all the way open or just dripping??
It should not be open. Essentially, you're still trying to dose the same amount of 'calcium water' as before so if you open it up all the way you're just bringing up your numbers for no reason. The other thing I've heard and I don't listen to it, is that if you control your reactor in this fashion, the on and off of the CO2 causes dkH swings so I'm not sure what should be done. I was trying to find a perfect combination of CO2 and drip that would hold a consistent pH in the calcium reactor without it shutting off. I was going to try and use the controller as a monitor so if it drops too extremely low pH then it would shut off
Yes it does make a difference. If you leave it all the way open you have to pump more CO2 in the reactor to keep the pH low enough to dissolve the media.
