Dosing CA & ALK question

Parameters

For the past few days my CA has been stuck around 475ppm and ALK ~7dkh. I would like to get my ALK back up a little bit to try to balance out my CA but is that right? If CA is not being taken up as much as ALK. Is ALK the only thing I dose until CA shows some depletion?

I am using brand new Sailfert test kits for CA, ALK and MG.

I am a little nervous that all I am doing is dosing ALK but I may just be giving myself the jitters for no reason. Yes, I read corals utilize bicarbonate to grow their skeleton so this makes sense seeing my alk drop but I figured CA would drop as well?

Anyone have low ALK, high CA and MG.

MG is sitting around 1410.

pH has been around 8.27-8.44 with an average of 8.41.

Waiting for my 2 Part ESV to come in but using ALK from the left over I had of Reef Code part B until it arrives (probably tomorrow).

my cal and alk ratio went off before. i shut my cal reactor down and manually dosed just alk until it stabilized. took a while, then turned reactor back on.

almost the same issue here - makes me not trust my testing kits (just ordered more). Alk is low and CA is high.

Yes, just add the Alk part for a few days and keep testing. Make sure your magnesium is in line as well.

now that you mention it, thats how my cal got out of wack. i had a bad test kit [red sea] and manually dosed cal.
