For the longest one I've been looking to go to LEDs in my Nanocube 28 HQI. I almost bought a used OEM JBJ LED hood off of eBay, but I didn't like the idea of a stock setup, especially since it seemed that the cheap non dimmable or programable LEDs would be a downgrade from the MH 150w. My initial choice was a Maxspect Nano R420R fixture. But the more I thought about it, the more I like the idea of having my Vortech pump(s) and lights being run together. I love Ecotech products and was excited to use the EcoSmart Live web based software from everything I've seen of my friends equipment. Long story short, I found a 28gal PC hood for cheap used, purchased it, and went on the hunt for a Radion. I wanted a G2 Pro for the amount of colors and spectrum control. I found what I was told was a G2 Pro, drove an hour, bought it and in the car ride home, started thinking it wasn't rally a pro as advertised. It was supposedly upgraded, as it said G2 on the box sticker. Anyway, upon close inspection, it was infact only a G2 not a Pro. The seller, like the lying, conniving ***** he was, totally didn't care and said it was ago of deal regardless and wouldn't do a thing for me, even return &20 off the price. So rather than making things worse, Ill be the bigger person and hope Karma catches up with "Queensrob" and joy only does no one ever buy from his sneaky, lying self, but what goes around comes around. I'll worry about upgrading the pucks later on I guess. For now I have a good to build.
Saw this done on another thread, not a full build walk through, but the final product. So I gutted the PC bulbs, reflector and ballast. Trimmed the housing ever so carefully on the kitchen floor, and lay the Radion in there. I lined up the mounting holes and popped 4 holes through the top. I ran the wires, left then stock fans and wiring to ONLY them, then reinstalled the splash shield that goes around the lamp.
