Hi all, I recently got a new job at CUMC and have to move our 300G reef tank from Duke on up to northern Manhattan. I have moved this tank once from my research lab in Florida. This tank was a DIY project I built in my garage, but this time I'd like to purchase a new tank and stand because I just don't have the time to build it! I'm planning on getting a 96Lx36Wx30H.

Do any of you know of local acrylic tank manufacturers?

I got a quote from Midwest Acrylic that I thought was reasonable but if there's a local company that's just as good and has cheaper delivery prices, I'd be happy to go with them.

Thanks for your help!

Hey, I'm sure some others will chime in but I've dealt with Coast to Coast in NJ, make some great stuff, not the cheapest $ and I'm not sure if they work with acrylic. I've gotten a ton of stuff done by them in glass and starfire. Another guy is Reefoman, he's a member on here, does great stuff again not sure about acrylic.
Another is custom king, he's also a member on here. I know he does great work with acrylic, myself and others on here have sumps and stuff made by him. I do not know if he does stuff on a large scale like that though. Good luck with tank and move! We'll be waiting for the build thread lol

I thought so with Coast to coast but wasn't sure, sorry. Yes sir,ya got the diy bug lol well for sump purposes if not diy definitely get in touch with Jeff at custom king, very good price, really good guy, also you can work with him on design.
Back to the acrylic note, I have dealt with Cal Aquaria personally I'd say number 1 acrylic guys at the moment but they are crazy money. I couldn't even tell you about shipping though, company I worked for use to fly the guys out for tank builds. If your going to have someone not local to NYC build and ship maybe check them out for the hell of it definitely amazing acrylic work.

Contact absolutely fish in NJ. They are a really good shop and they will know. BTW, your closest reef shop is going to be fauna, on 87th. The place that used to be maximum reef is now moved to a tucked away industrial corner of the Bronx. I've bought a bunch of livestock from them and have anyways found them nice and helpful. Do suspect that a recent ich outbreak I had came from their so but I only have myself to blame for not quarantineing.
