Definitely will nip, but that only matters in a sub 200G tank. My Idol and my Caribbean Queen Angel nip all the time, but honestly the corals seem better for it. If you're worried about coral nipping, feed small portions of food through out the day to keep them full.

I have my Indo for about 2 years in my reef. I feed heavily and it well behaved for about the first six months then it eating some Zoas and LPS. It's hot or miss on which species of those corals it likes. Clams and brain coral are on the menu as well. The Red Sea has the yellow belly and the Indo the gray. Also the Indo are harder to acclimate to eating....for me clam on the half shell got it started...GL

yea thats what i read, the red sea are easier to acclimate, but close to twice the $.
so in the year and a half that its been nipping, is it doing damage?

More than nipping more like totally eating..LOL. Doesn't touch SPS and still don't know why it only eats certain softies,LPS and zoas, but leaves others alone. So I do still have some large colonies of them.

so you wouldn't recommend putting one in, cause i have a 300 and i don't think i could get him out with out ripping it apart.

They are a beautiful fish and for me it was worth the trouble....I trick I learned with some "reef safe with caution" fish is while they are in QT place small frags of zoas,LPS etc.. in with it to see if they are on the menu...many times a fish will give the indication of what it likes....but mine totally fooled me..it was fine and didn't touch anything while in QT and the first six months in the DT...then it started....I was able to remove many of the colonies before they were totally eaten. It did do me a favor by devouring all the xenia that were starting to take over...

I don't blame you man. It comes down to the fact if you like the fish that much that you can deal with him nipping at zoas sometimes... I truly believe it depends on the fish and how he is fed. The regals are gorgeous youre right.
