Hey guys. I've been a Nite-Out user since starting this hobby but I've heard great things from many of you and online about Dr Tims One and only.

My question is.
On the instructions it says to turn of skimmer for 48 hrs. I'm afraid of oxygen levels dropping in the tank. I was thinking of removing the collection cup and letting the skimmer overflow back into the sump so the bacteria stay in the system.
FYI I Dont have an air pump available to pump oxygen into the system.

You might consider stopping the use of either product if your aquarium has been around awhile. Does the tank have issues which you feel these additives are needed?

The recommendation about shutting off the skimmer might be based on the notion that skimming will remove the bacteria. Skimming could remove up to 40% of the bacteria in the water. Would it matter?

For what it's worth, I'm setting up a new tank, and have a skimmer running (nano tank and skimmer though), and used some of the Dr. Tims nitrifying bacteria product, and lost surface tension for almost 4 days.

If you have overflows and a sump and even powerheads disrupting the surface of your water, you shouldn't have to worry at all about oxygen levels dropping...
