I did add a pinch of pure ammonia at 9:30 am.
Fish food looks like it is on its ladt legs, been eaten up by bacteria for now four days
Close to five weeks now.
15Lbs of cured live rock
Live argonite sand
20 l gallon tank
Latest test results from this morning.
Nitrite 2 to 5 ppm
Ammonia .25
Nitrate, looked blood red 160ppm
Just wondering now if its fine to now do one last water change for awhile
Replace with Ro di water
Then finally add fish. As if saturday it will be five weeks

Stop adding ammonia and when ammonia and nitrites reaches 0 get your nitrates under control then add fish.

lol. Please tell me I don't have to say it as well.

Do some waterchanges. Your bacteria are now in control. You will now struggle with what the rest of the hobby struggles with, nitrates.

OH MY GOD STOP ADDING AMMONIA!

Don't add the fish until nitrates are 30 or below. You can but shouldn't.

I appreciate your concern about keeping the nitrifying bacteria alive, but I think the best thing you can do at this point is throw that bottle of ammonia away.

Then waterchange. And waterchange again.

If you insist on keeping the cycle going, then add more fish food.

I finally added my first 3 fishes, after semi-cycling my tank with barely a tiny pinch of Thera fish food from NLS. Low nitrates (around 30ppm, too high IMO, and I'm working on it). I'll test ammonia tonight, but I just want to show you that you don't need to worry in the slightest about keeping nitrifying bacteria alive in your tank. They'll do fine on their own so long as you add fish in the next 90 days.

I'll report back my ammonia and nitrate levels tonight just to give you an idea. This was from 0 fish to 3 fishes, and I "cycled" the tank with barely a pinch of food, never saw any ammonia on a test kit, and have only seen 30ppm nitrate.

Why do all you guys keep responding to this guy?????

I've seen all of his threads and everyone on every thread has said to stop adding ammonia. He says 'ok, I'll stop'. Yet he keeps adding and fueling everyone's fire.

if this guy is anything but a troll I'll eat my hat.

I said I'd post an update, so here it is. Added 3 fishes, my nitrates were at 30 before the addition. Despite adding the fishes, my ammonia is between 0-0.25 which is where it tends to be since the accuracy isn't very easy to see with the api kit, and nitrates are actually down to 5ppm.

The lower nitrates pleasantly surprised me, I would have figured them to climb higher since adding the fishes, though I guess we'll see in the coming days.

I'll wait a few more days, and if the cheato is doing its thing, and nitrates remain under control, then I can start adding coral!

P. S. Stop adding ammonia! Lol

I think you're right. No one in their right, competent mind would continue to do hat this guy does and keep posting about it. You're 100% right, Clearly a troll and of not, I'll eat my hat, your hat, and his shorts.

His next tank will be a SPS dominant beta bowl.

Think outside the bowl my friend. I think his next endeavor will be finding and domesticating the Loch Ness monster, putting it in his water bottle, and then asking us if he should cover the bottle or leave the lid off :banghead:
