Clean or not to clean...
I know ive had a skimmer for years, but Ive always been curious of what others do with their skimmer cups. Do you clean it spotless or do you empty it and leave it dirty and why....?

sup Mic! clean spotless once a week coz the neck build up will effect the performance.

I clean cup every other day because I don't like using skimate locker because if it overflows atleast it will be into tank not on carpet...
But I wish I could clean the rest of it more often proably should I do it once a yr lol

I clean the skimmer cup with water and paper towels. I recently cleaned the whole skimmer in white vinegar and water and I am regretting that decision. One week after cleaning, it is still not producing any skimmate. Do do other people do with regards to cleaning the skimmer unit?

i clean my cup every time i have to empty it. The neck is also attached to it, i clean that as well. I never had any problems and it always produces skimmate.

Clean cup weekly clean skimmer body and pump once a year

I rinse the cup once a month but every 2 months I soak the skimmer in a vinegar bath and keep it running at its best , it's amazing how good a skimmer work when it's pump is squeaky clean

I clean my cup once a week and I soak my entire skimmer in vinegar every 6 months ...
