making a filter sock holder

For those of you who are crafty.... do you have any suggestions on how I could construct a filter sock holder. I want to make 2 for my dual overflow tank.


I can go to homedepot etc... I don't love the ones that are online and they are expensive!

HD sells acrylic or Plexiglas I'm sure you could make something out of that pretty easily.

A Chinese soup container. Another option is to use the lighting egg crates and cut a hole for the sock.

This set up will probably not work for you. Maybe you can get some ideas. I put those plastic hooks on the side and zip ties on a piece of egg create. I just put the egg create into place, added a drip tray and I was good to go. You can zip tie pieces of egg create together to form a rectangle. Put the sock in that.

A PVC Tee works perfect for the smaller socks. You can cut to fit nicely on the rim of your sump.

in homedepot in the pvc section they sell these black plastic parts dont know what its called its about 3 bucks a 4 inch sock fits in it perfect and tight then i took a wire with a hook to hang it of the side of the tank on the inside i can send you a pic if you inbox me a number i just dont know whats the name of the part but it is perfect
