I lost my blue throat trigger this past week. He decided to jump. I never in my 5+ years of reefing have had a jumper and i guess I became naive.

With that said everyone cover up your tanks! It sucks to see an animal you cared for and loved, dried up on the floor.

I just bought glass canopies. I went this route because it was already pre cut and easy to get. I also do not have any corals with demanding light requirements.

My 150 gallon now only has a hippotang, flame angel, 2 clowns and a royal gramma. It looks empty!!!!

I disproved the ideas " they never jump for me" thought about 5minutes after I added my flasher wrasse. Good thing I put in a net across the back of my canopy.

SOrry for your loss the blue throat is a sweet looking.

It's always a good idea to have some type of cover on top, as you never know when a fish will get spooked and jump, and it's usually the one fish that you don't want to lose too!

On the positive side that are a lot of great fish sales (Black Friday) going on right at the moment, so you can get some good deals.

I appreciate the words.

Interestingly the flame angel and royal gramma seem to be more active.

My tank is filled with shy fish (besides the clowns.) What is a pretty fish (sizeable) you guys recommend that won't dive behind the rocks when a person walks by.

And the cover must be tight. I have a net over my tank but there was some space uncovered close to HOB skimmer and my female clown decided to jump right through it and I found her dried on the net. Since then the whole tank is covered
