Made a STUPID mistake. Who else had made one? Let's hear it.

Left my python on pushing water on one of FW tanks while I answered the door and got caught up in conversation. Meanwhile I pumped over 200gph of freshwater into a bedroom floor.

To this day I still get dirty looks from my wife when the subject is brought up.

I filled a 20 gal brut can with my water change water (on top of a stool) and walked away for a minute.
When I walking back it fell on me like I was the wining coach at the Super Bowl.
Man was the wife pissed lol.

1) Didn't label my 1 gallon ALK supplement. My wife dumped it all in the tank to top off the water = tank dead.


2) I left the ALK doser pump on overnight = tank dead


I hate ALK

Wow. I'd be heartbroken. That's so sad. Definitely a really bad couple of mistakes.

I committed murder while dipping corals. I had a good size rock with shrooms on it, so I mixed enough of the Bayers dip in a 1 gal. bowl to dip the rock in. As I proceeded to put the bowl in to my tank so as to float it to keep the temp stable it slipped in to the tank. Yep, I dumped the contents in to the tank killing my fish.

There have been a few more stupid mistakes through out the past 20+ years, but none as stupid as the one above.

There's no mistake worse than these ones that wipe out entire tanks. I cant imagine that. I'd be beyond upset

Left my ro running and flood my living room causing a massive flood resulting in gutting a hard wood floor, sheetrock 3ft from the floor, furniture as well. I had just changed my filters and upgraded to 150gpd. I broke down two aquariums for the renovations and the 75 gallon holding tank I used had a leak resulting in another flood in my basement apartment on my brand new laminate floor. Had to gut that as well..

It seems RO units take the cake for causing mishaps and damage in this hobby.
