Hey MR,

Quick question. I have a baby sailfin and I don't know if hes pecking at my corals or algae. Has anyone ever had a problem with sailfins pecking at coral? Should I be worried? Just put a gorgeous elegance coral in and it seems like he pecks at it every now and then. I cannot have this.

My pacific sailfin would eat anything and everything, zoas, leathers, colt, mushrooms, LPS, clams. He could consume a dozen small Zoas in a minute. He has since passed after 10yrs. These fish need to be fed regularly. I no longer keep corals so im not sure if the 2 RS sailfins i have together would pick.

I have a sailfin and doesn't pick at any corals. Could jus be algae as they like to eat algae. It may seem like he's picking at your corals but you could have some algae on corals

I agree with arthurk my sail fin does the same thing sometimes looks like he is picking but it is either micros or algae never the coral it self. having said that it is also a living thing with a mind of its own and yours may be the one in a million that does pick
