Hi all,

I currently work for a pet store and I'm maintaining a customers tank as a side job. It's a 125 gallon, with 2 gigantic I mean easily 20"+ batfish, assorted butterflies and angels, etc. He refuses to change his feeding which is 8 frozen cubes in the morning, followed by 6 at night and 1 large cup of live black worms. His tank is filthy... no matter how much I clean, every week the ammonia and nitrites are through the roof. Worms clumped at the bottom of the tank... I'm at a loss and I know these fish are suffering. Do you have any ideas on how I can better take care of these fish? No protein skimmer and only 2 whisper 60 filters. I need some serious help lol the batfish alone need to be in a much bigger aquarium.

Convince him to use LRS food and cut out the black worms as they die quickly in salt water.

Are the whisper filters hob or canister? Either way need to be cleaned regularly.

if he refuses to change I would get in writing that you are not to be held responsible for the health of his fish or tank. this guy sounds like the kind to sue you if the tank wipes out.

Try talking him I to a bigger tank
Maybe instead of suggesting what he should be doing to this one, suggest a bigger tank and help him design/set it up. He can get more livestock and In process maybe get a skimmer and sump
