Hello all.

OK so I'm brainstorming on how to approach setting up a used reefkeeper lite on my tank.

I have the head, sl1, pc4, and a temp probe.

The thought was to plug in my 2 heaters and 2 brs dosing pumps which are on the way to dose 2 part.

Im curious if I can use the rkl for redundancy with my ato. I have the auto aqua smart ato which has worked flawlessly but a backup is always good. Could I plug that unit into the rkl, and have a switch above the water line setup to shut off the ato if the water level starts to rise?

Another question would be what's the best way to have a backup on the dosers failing in on position? Would there be an immediate ph spike that a probe can sense before tank is nuked?

I know these are beginner questions, this is my first run at setting up a controller....

Thanks for any input on how you have things setup....

I never had my rkl fail in the on position and I've had several RKLs. Do you have an example of this happening?

Only time I heard of a doser failing is normally because of user error. Them leaving It in the on position.

If I'm not mistaken u are suppose to connect low watt fans/pumps/etc on outlet 1 and 4. If u put low watts pumps on 2/3 it might not shut off. Heard of stories on different forums of this happening. Doesn't always but could happen.
