Some obviously would be harder then others what's the best way to do it split then glue or putty where u cut ?

Just curious as might try in the future if tank is ready

Pet's warehouse frags their wild colonies all the time so I think splitting colonies should be fine. I actually heard that splitting colonies is better because of flow. Not all sections of a large colony get the flow in our tanks as they did in the wild so those sections supposedly rtn. So cutting them up to smaller colonies means all the tissue get the flow they were accustomed to. Again this is just hear say, not personal experience.

Valor I'm curious about the more compact acros if splitting 4 ways ud wanna make it fair not just frag where where u can with snips maybe need a bandsaw to make 4 equal parts leaving a larger area to heal can these acros recover from that kind of fragging/cutting

I'm pretty sure they can, it's just unsightly and may hinder healing/new growth. But if survivability is the only issue, I think they will live as long as the conditions are good. Be careful if you have a low or ultra low nutrient system. Frags are less likely to survive in these tank so I would be more careful with splitting colonies.
