So right now I have a 46 gallon bow front tank with a 30 gallon refugium and a 15 gallon sump. I plan on upgrading within the next week to a 80 gallon deep blue tank and I wont be using the same sand in the 46 since it is crushed coral and i want sand. I have 60lbs of sand in the 30 gallon tank which I will still be using and I wont actually be disturbing in the move over. I will be using the same live rock which is about 90 lbs right now. But i was wondering for the main display tank, I plan on putting 80lbs of sand. Should I use live sand or no live sand. And/or is there another way you would do it. Thanks.

You should be fine by adding more sand just mic it in with the old one, and it will be just like doing a water change. Keep all the water from your old tank and transfer everything to your new tank and add freshly mixed salt water.
