Mixing Favites

This might be a stupid question.:iamwithst
I know Favites have tentacles that sting. But i was wondering if I could put two different kinds of Favites on opposite sides of the same rock and have them grow together, or would the two colonies be constantly fighting each other?
Has anyone ever tried this?

fighting will be a 50/50 but regardless one colony at some point is going to out compete the other colony and take over.
