Hello all. This is my first post on this site, but I have been reading for quite awhile now and really enjoy this forum. I wanted to share my experience regarding vodka dosing and anemones.
I have a 90 gallon reef with a 40 gallon sump and a Reef Octopus Diablo XS160. I keep a mix of SPS and LPS corals but also have two large rose bubble tip anemones that I have had for over 5 years in this tank. My nitrates were always around 5 and phosphates were about .25 but I always had just a little more algae than I was happy with so I decided to start dosing vodka with MB7. I would take my time and work my way up to 1.5 - 1.8ml then I would notice that both of the anemones would start to shrink and just not look that happy. I would stop dosing and after a few days they would start to look normal again. It seems to me that they don't like something about what is happening during vodka dosing. I have not been able to find all that much information about people with a similar experience. Has any one here noticed the same?
Thanks in advance for any help
