Spent the last hour eyeballing these scum and siphoning them out of my tank w Julian's Tool, works great for this. Is there anything I can treat the tank with to kill these things?! Also, do they hang out ONLY on Zoas?
If possible you should remove your zoas frags colonies and dip them in fresh water, they should come off. Also, you want to check the Zoas for eggs, and if you find them remove them.
I would suggest a 3 minute dip of all zoo in a 50/50 peroxide/tank water mix. This will also rid the colonies of problem algae if that's an issue. Totally safe, I've done it many times.
In my experience yes totally safe. You might want to manually pluck off as much BA as possible first. It is pretty effective on GHA. For a few days the zoa might close, but they will open again and all GHA will die off.
Easiest is to dip in revive or similar. Nothing works on the eggs. Remove all eggs you can find. dip again a week later then 2 weeks later. Should be good. Also I would add a 6line melanarus or Coris wrasse to help out
