adding coral to fresh mixed water

can i transfer coral to a fresh batch of mixed salt in a container, say i make a 1-2 gallons in a bucket and let it mix for an hour and then add the coral to it would the coral get damaged or would they be okay in there ?

That's a good question I've always asked my self that. Following along

In theory they would be ok, as long as parameters match the system the coral came from. BUT, the water would go bad easily because there is no bacteria to help complete the cycle.

take the 1-2gal from your tank, and replace it with new made water.

i'm not doing a water change lol.

I'm asking this because i want to take out coral from my tank, and i wanna keep them in another container for maybe a week or so. thats why i ask.

i wasnt saying to do a water change, i thought it would be better if the coral went into tank water. but it would be a 2 gal water change in reality.

maybe you should of mentioned that you dont want the coral in tank water in your first post.

I think the advice given is because the coral won't react kindly to being placed in totally new water, just pull water from your tank and replace that. Sounds reasonable.

Yes dude he got it. Your not. Do a 2g water change and keep your coral in that for a week rather than fresh water. And as Chef said you need to explain yourself better. Why would you not want to use water that better matches what your coral is used to? A
