Just got home and my house stinks of burning electronics. Something in the tank is going and I am going to shut it down. All will be lost. Frogspawn, orange Yuma, green sps, psuedochromis, LR but has some algae in it. Will sell the whole thing /parts once I find out is fried. Please respond tonight if interested or all will be tossed

I am in north rockland.

The light is a LED SOL - no smell
I took skimmer out - no smell from the pump
I took the return pump (Tunze) out - no smell from the pump
Litremeter III - No smell
Ranco Temp controller - very smell of electronics but I dont think this is culprit
Heater WON titanium - no smell from the controller
Ecotech Vortechs - no smell

I think its the DJ power strip that everything was connected to. I disconnected it and only running the heater and return pump now direct to the GFCI outlet for now.

My living room stinks ans the smell is in the stand of the tank. Not allot of room in there so its my guess.

I am thinking I will tear this down regardless as the tank has not been healthy anyways.

Maybe make it a freshwater tank or get rid of it all together.

Fish is a psudochromis - at least 7 years,

Did you have a timer ?
I once came home and my tank was unplugged so I asked why and they said it was smelling. Couldn't identify the source so I plugged it in for a second and the timer burst into flames.
Needless to say it was unplugged and fire extinguisher which was on hand was used quickly.
Thank God it didn't happen when no one was home and that it was on my old tank that I had mostly emptied already because of upgrade.

got home last night and things are OK still with the return and heater only until I decide on what to do.

But I did notice the only fish a Pseudochromis was down low in the tank with a huge belly now. Either its sick or about to lay eggs possibly?

The tank has not been that great lately and I am debating on tearing it all down.

Oh what to do.
