Apex help?

I got my apex set up and gotta admit I barley use it so when I finally wanted to sign on to fusion to check it as usual my video game adapter had lost connection who knows when and it was down so I unplugged it and was able to sign on but my home page was all messed up not all probes where listed the grey squares with links to everything where blank ??

I'm guessing I really need to run a wire from the router and ditch the video game card so it doesn't keep dropping me? Not sure why it doesn't re connect after it drops ?

Also will downloading new operating system fix my issue with my fusion home page

Make sure when you update you are directly plugged in via Ethernet cable.

Yes, a wired connection is a must!
After flashing firmware you also need to load the webpages. But that's for the naive interface. For fusion, the tiles might just be hidden.

Could be your router. I had an older 1gen wireless N dlink 655. It struggled with multiple devices. Ditched it for an asus dual band router. No problems what so ever. Still using a gaming adapter on my apex no drops.

For normal every day operation a wireless adapter is okay to use.
However, you should never try to do a firmware update via wireless. There is a risk of bricking the unit.
Neptune's forums as well as the firmware instructions stress this point.

Whenever I do an upgrade I make sure it's over wire and as an extra precaution I plug my laptop into wired connection and turn off the wireless on the laptop.

Matt I agree I keep a wire behind the TV in my fios router - when ever I do an upgrade I turn the wifi off and plug the laptop in.

Ok I have never upgraded firm ware bought this in jan
I will make sure to plug right in when I do!
I'm contemplating just selling the whole thing as for someone who knows nothing about computers routers etc it's been a pita and now not working at all
