You should probably try to stop the algae from growing in first place. Do you have RODI? checking your phosphate levels?


Lets say you already did, you can dip the rock in water mixed with hydrogen peroxide.


I use RODI, Output TDS is 0, phosphates in DT are .08 as of today and nitrates are around 1ppm.

The algae started when I was out of town for two weeks getting married. The temperature in my apartment spiked and my water temp hit about 84. When I returned the tank was a mess. Nothing had died, corals seemed fine, but my phosphates had spiked to .2 and I presume that's what caused the growth. Since then I've been able to get my PO4 back down to acceptable levels, typically between .04 and .08.
