Good morning fellow reefers I have BTA question, I'm new to keeping BTA's and just recently mines closed completely up and it looks like it went behind the rock work the two clowns that were hosting it are still swimming around the area it was resting at. So my question to you guys is
1- is that normal he's been in the tank for about 3 and half weeks in the same spot and nothing has changed in the tank lighting is the same, flow is the same, thinly difference is my PO4 was a little high and i brought it back down but other than that no other changes
2- does that mean he's dying
3- will he come back up to the top of the rock work or will he remain down there
4- should i be concerned, i ask because i cannot take the landscape apart without damaging all my other corals as they have encrusted all around the rocks in that area
5- and lastly is there anything i can do to help him to come back up

Leave it alone it will move to where it wants to be not where u want it at
The clowns will find it again
But
My clowns were to big for my bta and the damaged it what size is your and your clowns
If water is good it will be ok leave it don't try to catch it let nature takes its course

they might been i just know when i feed directly he wasn't taking it but he didn't show any signs of distress he's been fully open since he perched on that rock and i do feed my tank a lot so there is always some kind of food in the tank wether its pellets, brine shrimp, krill or just coral foods

okay so i moved the rock that i could and found him he wasn't balled up it seems like he just dropped down because there was nothing under hit foot and i think the cleaner shrimp were bothering him from underneath so i lifted him back up and he was full opened and placed some rubble in the spot he was originally so that nothing can bother his foot lets see what happens now will attempt to feed him again tonite gonna ask the LFS what they were feeding him and get that my question is will the clowns attempt to take it out his tentacles

Nems often move around, and open and close regularly. Its a problem if it gets sucked into a pump or if it starts to "melt" or the mouth gapes dramatically. Otherwise, I'd leave it alone and let it find its happy place.

Funny you mention that i came home today and he was stuck on my MP40 luckily it was rev'd down really slow because the master pump overheated it didn't look too damaged no torn parts it was just closing all its tentacles, so i hope he recovers i placed him on the ground away from the pump the clowns are already trying to get him to open back up lets hope they can revive him he's a nice piece
