Glass scratches too, and starfire glass, low iron type glass, scratches very easy. The thing is with an acrylic tank you can take out the scratches, which is something that you can't do with a glass tank.

You do need to be more careful with Acrylic tanks, scratches, but the advantages of having one is that they're very light, very clear, the tanks almost glow, and they're available in more different size and shapes, not to mention you can do mods to them, are really worth it, plus if you buff the scratches the tank will look brand new.

acrylic is amazing, but if you don't give it TLC from day one i hope you enjoy looking through a scratched window!

With that daid its not hard to keep the tank clean with proper tools, but the average hobbyist and most stores have no idea how to buff the scratches appropriately especially closer to the bottom where sand creates the scratches.
