Setting Up IM Mini-Max Reactor

I purchased a Inovation Marine Mini Max reactor to run carbon in my system. I need to know a few things before starting: I plan on running 1 cup in the reactor

1) I'm hearing that I should not run carbon 24/7 because it strips the water too much and can hurt my corals - I only keep LPS, and Zoas

2) How often should I change out the carbon?

3) How much flow? Does the media have to tumble?
