I figured that ..i guess ill ha e to do some work and add a retrokit with the clipon reflectors

The closed fixtures like ati really have the edge because of active cooling. If you retro fit with a spec ballast you get crappy par, and if you overdrive bulbs without cooling i.e. ice cap 660 ballast, you drastically reduce bulb life.

The difference in par from an ATI fixture to a spec driven retrofit is huge. My 10 burn ATI gives me the same numbers as a 400w halide (700+ par), and the crappy t5's in my giesemann MH hood give me a max par reading of 250 below the water surface.

IMO try to get a 4 bulb ATI fixture to add in there.

What do u thi k the spread would be on the ati i was going to put a strip in the center between the 2 rows of kessil

T5 spread isn't great in general, but it fully illuminates everything below. It will be very bright between your rows of kessils. I think it will look great and growth will take off under the tubes.

Yes, thats basically what Im trying to do for my 265,,I've got the Kessils but shadows are killing me and LED basically babysit SPS. I've got all my SPS in my 80gal thats T5 lit and theres a huge difference.
