Hi Guys. Just got the ok to upgrade to a new tank. Don't want to rush things like I did last upgrade. I have 75 g now and want to go a little bigger not much as I do not have the room. I have my mind set on red sea reefer 450. Anybody own one that can tell me pros and cons? also should I rather have a custom tank and stand made or go with the reefer? I know reefer has no refugium and if I go custom I can also have custom sump??
Any help would be appreciated. I want everything spot on and top notch.

Thanks man. Yes I can't go any wider than really what I have now which is 18". The RsR 450 is 20" which is max I can go. It will block door to room. Also I can't go 6ft because it won't fit in my designated area. So RSR 450 dimensions work perfect for me since it is 59 inches. hopefully I can stick that rock I got from you in my new tank somewhere.

Get the 450 you won't be sorry! The tank is really nice thick, clear glass. The overflow is not very big and the drain once dialed in is super duper quiet. Yes there is no fuge area but truth be told most 'fuges' are too small anyways. I would go with an ARID reactor in the empty area of the cabinet. The only other thing is while the ATO is nice on them its not huge so you may end up adding a bigger one. However really can't go wrong with this setup I love them and hope to get the 250 myself instead of my mix and match current setup.

Congrats on getting your upgrade pre-approved. Only recently my upgrade plans got rejected. :(

The Red Sea refer series is a work of art. I have the nano and it comes with everything that is needed to run a system. It has a modern and sleek looking design.

Putting together the cabinet was a pain (only because it took a long time), and I was concerned that it wouldn't be strong enough, but after I was finished I felt like the stand could support a tank. :tank:

If you decide to go with a custom setup then I guess you need to figure out what you want that is different or not being offered by any of the other tanks.

I think your right about the fuge. Not that familiar on that ARID reactor. Read up on but have not seen what it can do? As for Ato i already got a system setup in the closet behind the tank. Thanks for your input.

I decided i will go with the redsea reefer 450. I will be picking it up after the holidays. I want to get all my equipment lined up before i get the tank. Im still contemplating on whether to breakdown my tank and sell all my stuff and start fresh with the new tank or just transfer everything from my 75g to the new tank. I heard disaster stories about transfers. I did it once but did not have alot of livestock. I got alot of nice coral which i could not imagine losing. In the meantime got to do research on equipment. Just picked up lights a pair of Radion xr30w pros with reeflink. I think ill do a build thread once i get everything going.
