Anyone Watched Racing Extinction...? Last Night

Hello MR GM,

I have recorded Racing Extinction last night and myself and my wife cried while watching what goes on in other parts of the world and birds and sea life that is on the verge of extinction, It was amazing documentary by Discovery....

I watched it. Some good, some made up hupla that's to be expected from a media source looking for shock and awe to muster ratings. While it's promising to see a generations focus get away from the thinking that the world/ocean is an endless pit we can dump in, and has endless resources we can take from. It's hard to swallow watching other countries practices systematically picked apart and pointed out, given this countries history and position in the world because of it, while still using by far more resources and energy than any other, per capita or otherwise. And don't mean this personally, but sorta like feeling bad over what's happening, while supporting this hobby and industry. Or being a fat guy who always wears a sweatsuit, like that's going to help.

I think this documentary is all about awareness and what we can do to help it slowdown...

Yup. imo, and like they said many times during the show, it's all about the money. Unfortunately, imo, in a world so corrupt, with so many in the human race so desperate, doesn't look too promising. 85 people control 50% of the worlds wealth. Even in a first world country, where most people have everything they need, and certainly more than what people had just a few generations ago, we want more.

I almost puked with the race car driver. They really lost me there. She races cars for god sake. NO MEAT NO FUR NO FOSSIL FUEL. Where does she get her tires from, or the oil in her engine, or god knows how much fuel she burns? She said people say she should race a bike but she wouldn't have as many viewers. Last time I checked lots of people watch the Tour de France. Look at me raising awareness... While I do my part to pollute the environment exponentially more than any other single person in America. But its ok because I don't eat meat or wear fur.... I get that its all about everyone doing their part and awareness. I just struggled to keep watching after her part. I would love to see a killer whale eat her alive.

It was an awesome documentary. I wish I could've been there when they drove around NYC with the projector car. It opened up my eyes even more to what's really happening around the world. I got sad when I saw all those dead corals in the water, as well as the insanely large number of shark fins. I too vowed to NOT buy anything that comes from an endangered species.

Great documentary! Hopefully documentaries like this and others like Mission Blue help raise awareness of what's really happening to the place we all call home.
