So my clownfish outsmarted me, and went into my overflow somehow, there is a screen on top and it's too narrow for most nets.
How do I get it out?
It seems to be enjoying itself there but the other maroon clown I got took up a safe residence and I would like the pair together.
Any ideas?

Can you get a small container down to the bottom of the overflow? If you can, you can drain/siphon the overflow as much as possible to lessen the room the clownfish has to maneuver and scoop it out.

It's not really a large overflow I don't know how large of a container I'll be able to get in there. Maybe half of a 20 oz bottle.
Is there a way to siphon the clown out with a large hose maybe? Or would that hurt it?

take a small net, bend the wide square head into a narrow thin net, or fold it at 90 degrees into a triangular end, which could scoop a fish up if it was in the corner of your tank. Basically work the net frame into something that would fit into the space.

After 1/2 an hour of standing bent over the tank with the Petco stick and a small net and a shoulder length glove switching back and forth while holding my phone to give me some light, I finally got the clown to swim to the top and my wife held the phone to give me the light and I swiped the clown out of the overflow with the net.
Now I am covered in saltwater and sore but the clown is back in the tank.
Any ideas how to keep my Solomon island perc from attacking my maroons?
