diy ref

i have a 20g high tank plan on turning into a ref for my 29g high. wanting to put skimmer in also my skimmer has side inlet and outlet so figured i would make my inlet that has a rio 2600 i think thats the size work for the skimmer and as the force to return to the tank. and suggestions ? or plans or pic's. ty rick
